Cabinet of Curiosities

Bishumuizha Manor (1813) has functioned as a sugar factory, a crime scene, and a Soviet office. One room - with trompe-l'oeil wood panelling - remained empty since the 1970s.

The space already contained a small set of objects. I extended it by introducing new elements based on resemblance - each object chosen to echo what was already present.

The result functions as object theatre. The viewer moves through the space, opening and observing objects at close range. The scenography does not present a composition. It constructs a condition where objects appear to have always been there.
