Munchausen

After the publication of Baron Munchausen, the real Baron and his fictional double begin to diverge. This split is materialised spatially: one structure functions as interior, puppet theatre, and public stage.

The scenography is based on a repeating fachwerk module that can be reoriented and recombined in real time by performers.

The actors interact directly with the structure - climbing, rotating, and repositioning its elements. Objects accumulate across the stage, turning the space into a growing archive that exceeds the Baron's control.

Four states of the module follow the emotional arc of the play: straight diagonal as order, skew as anxiety, cross as conflict, and empty frame as desolation.
